In July 2024, Hampshire Caledonian Pipe Band had the incredible opportunity to travel to Sweden for the Eksjö International Tattoo, performing as part of the Caber Feidh Massed Pipes and Drums.
It was a fantastic experience for the band and a week that our members will remember for many years to come. The streets and venues of this beautiful Swedish town provided an incredible backdrop for the tattoo, with the unmistakable sound of pipes and drums filling the air throughout the week.
Performing as part of the Caber Feidh Massed Pipes and Drums gave our members the opportunity to join forces with pipers and drummers from across the UK creating the huge sound and spectacle that makes a massed band performance so special. For Hampshire Caledonian, it was also a fantastic opportunity to represent our band overseas and share our passion for Scottish piping and drumming with audiences in Sweden.
We couldn’t have been prouder to see Hampshire Caledonian members playing alongside the massed pipes and drums and representing the band on an international stage.
The band were even fortunate enough to experience an excursion which involved a morning swimming in a beautiful lake, and a tractor ride to see some deer and moose!
